The Spanish poet and playwright Federico García Lorca, who wrote one book of poems inspired by his time living in New York, will be the subject of a citywide festival anchored by an exhibition this spring. “Lorca in NY: A Celebration,” running from April 5 through July 21 throughout the city, will feature work by and inspired by Lorca, including a puppet play, poems by creative writing students, scholarly panels and a concert by Patti Smith. Starting April 5, the New York Public Library will host “Back Tomorrow: Federico García Lorca / Poet in New York,” which will showcase manuscripts, photos and drawings.
